Ornithologists can delight in the Ria Formosa Nature reserve the entrance being only 15 mins drive away from Moncarapacho at Quinta de Marin, 1 km outside Olhão, the Ria Formosa is around 33 miles long and covers about 42 acres. Flamingos, geese, ducks, storks, royal terns and eagles can be found or rest here on their migrations to and from Africa to northern Europe.
